And then there was you..

"Some women choose to follow men, and some women choose to follow their dreams. If you're wondering which way to go, remember that your career will never wake up and tell you that it doesn't love you anymore."

Madness.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
"Before you, my life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars—points of light and reason…
And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was
beauty. When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black.
Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light. I couldn’t see the stars anymore.

And there was no more reason for anything."

"I could see it in your eyes, that you honestly believed that I didn't want you anymore. The most absurd, ridiculous concept-as if there were any way that I could exist without needing you."

New Moon madness has already ensued with the premiere of the long awaited sequel taking place in T-17 days (Yes--I am one of the crazed maniac fans who fully plans on attending the midnight premiere). The Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson shots above are from the new issue of Harper's Bazaar, and to date I must say, this shoot is without a doubt the most stunning I've seen of these two endearing characters. I read all of the books in about a month and although I consider myself quite an avid reader, I am yet to experience the intensity, and emotion I experienced throughout the Twilight Saga.

Be Resourceful.

“It's interesting to see it all unravel. Gossip magazines, just by catching people walking down the streets, can actually be more effective and fashion-oriented than fashion magazines.”

A True Angel* 1947-2009

"God made man stronger but not necessarily more intelligent. He gave women intuition and femininity. And, used properly, that combination easily jumbles the brain of any man I've ever met."

Carrie B. Flashback

"Some people are settling down, some people are settling. And some people refuse to settle for anything less than butterfly's."
-Carrie Bradshaw [S&TC]

As I was falling asleep the other night flipping through the channels I caught an old Sex & the City episode and it was one of my favorites. It was the one where the gals are in the Hampton's for a friends wedding and Carrie is slowly falling for "Berger". She was pregnant during the filming so they have her wearing lots of baggy shirts and big bags. This dress she wore was one of my absolute favorites. The baby pink looked so flattering on her and I remember when it first aired just completely falling in love with the dress. She also had a gorgeous pink clutch and she was wearing her trademark gold "Carrie" necklace. Ah, the good old S&TC days...they are so fun to watch now. The episode also left off with one of my favorite CB quotes which I noted at the top. I'm a firm believer that one should never settle for less than what they truly want in life. The butterfly's are worth the wait. ;)

Chloe!

"It's not what you spend, but how you wear it that counts. The key is to often dress up inexpensive basics with accessories. Something like a beautiful designer bag or belt can make everything else look richer and more luxurious."
-Chloe Sevigny (Elle June 2009)

Chloe Sevigny dominates the June issue of Elle Magazine. In the new fashion forward spread the Big Love star fully exposed her love for chunky jewelry, vintage clothes, and her tendency to splurge mainly on shoes. With the recession in mind she made good points on how to fashionably not break the bank. I love that she wears floor length high collared moo-moo's for her character on Big Love when in reality she is the most influntial fashionista. She goes on to say "The look I'm going for is very 80's supermodel. It's time to be sexy."

I would seriously love to raid this girls closet...!

Risk Management

"Fashion is as profound and critical a part of the social life of man as sex, and is made up of the same ambivalent mixture of irresistible urges and inevitable taboos."
-Rene Konig

Rihanna was stirring up quite a frenzy in NYC this past week with her insane sense of style. The girl has an impeccable record when it comes to risk taking. She makes everything look good, if not interesting. I think it's her confidence that really does it. She makes every outfit look so reassuring on, like Yes--this is fierce, so love it or take a walk! I'm unsure of the "earring-necklace" that she rocks in the 3rd pic, however it did catch my attention, and isn't that what fashion is all about? That includes those cut out Rodarte leggings which look impossible to even get on! Bottom line? She takes risks, and she's not afraid of her inner Fashionista. She rocks anything and everything, and she does it with pride! The Derek Lam suit in the 1st pic is by far one of my favorite looks on her to date. There is something about the leopard peeking out as well as her Ruby lips and platinum streaks in her jet black hair. Somehow it all comes together and I'm confidant that even the conservative of Fashionistas would want to try on one of these suits.

Talk about a cliffhanger!

"Did you say it? I Love You.
I don't ever want to live without you.
You changed my life. Did you say it?
Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it,
but every now and then, look around, drink it in,
cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow..."
-Grey's

So if you didn't watch the season finale of Grey's Anatomy last night, stop reading right now! Cliffhanger doesn't even do a justice to the last 5 minutes of the 2 hour finale that aired. As if I wasn't devastated enough to realize George was the gory and unrecognizable "John Doe", I was ready to breathe a sigh of relief as Izzy and Alex reunite after realizing her memory is back to normal----only for her to flat line right in his arms!!! As the team of docs try to revive her the viewers are left with Izzy flashing back into her prom dress the night Denny died..stepping into the elevator to be greeted by handsome George with his army uniform. To me it looked like they were greeting each other in Heaven or getting ready to go on together...but who really knows?!Unfortunately we are left wondering until the fall when the show returns again. So sad, so sad. Of course as this traumatic 5 minutes is taking place, Meridith is leaving off with one of her many life inspiring quotes...which I of course fell in love with. <3

Classic.

"I'm not interested in money, I just want to be ..Wonderful*."
-Marilyn Monroe

So for as long as I can remember, I've been obsessed with anything Marilyn Monroe. I have several portraits of her around my room and I've been collecting books about her for years. The only thing I was missing out on this whole time were her movies! I know it sounds crazy, but I was never into old movies. Anyway being the insane clothes fanatic that I am my mom mentioned The Seven Year Itch being on so thanks to DVR I was able to sit and watch it after class the other day. I actually enjoyed the movie! Not only that but the dresses she wore were fabulous! She herself made all the clothes look impeccable and timeless which I feel is very rare these days. The movie was made in 1955 so its now the oldest movie I've ever watched, and I plan on seeing many more! TCM frequently plays most of her films so I'm looking forward to catching up on them now. =) Anyway seeing her in action just confirmed what I had suspected all along.. she really was the most GORGEOUS creature to walk the planet.
Her style + beauty is often imitated, but never duplicated.

I <3 C.H

"That's when I heard the back gate open and shut. There was the sound of approaching footsteps and then they stopped. Here I was with green tights and no underwear, hanging out of my kitchen window with my head in my sink. Shit. Shit. Shit. Please tell me this isn't happening to me?!"

My love for Chelsea is undeniable. I seriously was cracking up within the first 2 pages of this book. It was a quick read and Hilarious!

Cupcakes and Inspiration

I love red velvet cupcakes and I'm craving one really bad right now!!!! The best place to get them is Magnolia or Buttercup Bakery in the city. MmMm soooo yummy!

My bffl Kelly sent me a really great poem/story and it was so inspiring! Please read. This is my favorite part:
"You learn that anything worth achieving is worth working for and that wishing for something to happen, is different from working toward making it happen."
