<3

Cam Gigandet is without a doubt one of my fav. hotties from the original Twilight cast (well they are all hot..) but this guy really stands out. I've been noticing him in more films recently and it makes me sad to think he won't be returning for the "New Moon" sequal. He is Gorgeousssss! So yeah I'm sure we will be seeing much of him in the future. ;)

Today was an extra beautiful day. Not a cloud in the sky, and temperature was beyond perfection. It was a great day to ease into fall. I did some reading earlier just sitting out on my parents porch. Let the sun hit my face and the breeze blow right through me. Relaxation at it's best. I'm in the process of finishing up my 3rd Ellen Hopkins book...this one titled Burned. After reading her first book, Crank I have been unable to stop myself from picking up the rest of her intriguing stories. I get lost in every book and find them impossible to put down. So far "Impulse" was my favorite...definitely a page turner and I found myself really pulling for all of the characters (the story is based on 3 teens who are in psych. wards for various reasons and are also suicidal...they end up being each others reason for survival) anyway the story was absolutely incapacitating.

I'm off to finish up some blogging and go have a yummy dinner with my family on this lovely evening. Hard to believe it will be freezing out soon :-/ and dare I say it...Christmas is right around the corner. Yikes!! VMAS's are on tonight as well as the True Blood finale. Oh sooo good. Can't wait! Hope you guys are all having a fabulous weekend!

Summer Love <3

I know I have been neglecting my blog terribly the past week or so and it's time for some making up! ;) I had a crazy week with many fun Birthday festivities on L.I with my bestest friends! I'm 23 years old now and I'm not gonna lie it's quite scary this whole getting older thing! It feels like just yesterday I was gearing up for my 21st bday hoorah and remember distinctly hearing from many people that the bdays "are all down hill from here!"....yeah great! So hopefully 23 will be filled with many better days then 22 did. 22 was filled with much complication and confusion with life in general. I spent the weekend prior in Manhattan with my sister and her hubby. :) They took me to Brooklyn (yes it was my first time!) and I fell in love. Just like NYC in many ways, perhaps that's why I took so well to the whole BK experience. We ate at a lovely little Italian place right off of Bedford Ave and I couldn't help but people watch the entire time. The street style was amazing and very inspirational. It's crazy to think how far behind Long Island (where I grew up) is in fashion compared to NYC! The Birthday festivities ended in LI with my best friend. I had my first Taco Joe's experience (Yummmy!) as well as Fire Island bar hopping (highly overrated and over priced!!!). So yeah hopefully 23 will be filled with many more great adventures and abrupt decisions on my behalf. :)

Today I hit Target with my Mom and was immediately sucked into the cosmetics area. I've always been a makeup junkie and also loved trying new products since working for Benefit Cosmetics a million years ago (okay maybe it was 3?) at Macys. Over the last year or so my love and excitement for it died down a bit...until recently! After reading and following so many amazing blogs on here I have learned about some really great products and tips from some really awesome ladies! I've stuck to the same products for so long now I haven't actually gone out and tried new things. So after reading many great reviews I pick up the Urban Decay Eye Primer which is like a little magic wand that makes your eye shadow stay put with NO creases!! I've also never been a big lipstick person I always stuck with plain old lip gloss. I recently came to realize after having my makeup done for my sisters wedding that I LOVED the way my lips looked with a bare LINER and a NUDE Lipstick with a little smidge of gloss on top. Since I've always been into playing up my eyes I always prefered a very bare lip. After seeing so many celebs in the mags flaunting rosy cheeks I also scooped up some pretty blushes to try out. I always loved makeup so now I'm getting back into the swing of things. I'm just so happy the inspiration came from the amazing blogs I follow here! So thanks ladies!! :) Oh yeah AND since I've been pretty much perfecting giving myself manicures at home I picked up a new Essie nail polish in "Adorable" and yes it is! ;)

Also with summer coming to an end soon :( I just realized I read a ton of books and needed some new ones! Today I got Eat, Pray, Love which I have heard many people ranting and raving about non-stop and I hear the story is pretty inspirational....I'm def. in the mood for a good motivational boost! I also got Crank which is considered a "young adult" book whatever that means...it's supposed to be about a girl with serious addiction issues. So we have hopefully an uplifting spiritual kick and what I'm guessing will be a depressing downward spiral of addiction. Which shall I start first?! <3

Beach/ Pool Reading <3

I have been a major slacker with my reading the past month or so...or basically since I finished the Twilight Saga and found myself neglecting my large collection of books due to the fact that nothing and no one could compare to Edward and Bella. Who knew I would get so wrapped up in the fictional life of vampires? Well the past week I spent a lot of time at the pool and was able to get back into the swing of things. I finished LC's L.A. Candy and must say it was not bad at all. It was a very quick easy read and as I was laying out reading it my sister made me take off the cover because she can't stand the whole "Hills" crowd. She is also 34 so I completely understand how annoying they all come off to for her. I actually agree with her -- BUT I do love LC...! So the book was "loosely" based on her real life being discovered for a hit reality T.V. show and what not and of course there was a slight cliffhanger ending as the book will become a trilogy with 2 more to follow. I also am in the middle of a reaalllyyyy good book my sister gave me by Cynthia Langston called Bicoastal Babe. It's about a young woman in her early 30's who just got out of a serious relationship and is at a crossroads with her career. She gets the opportunity of a lifetime to become a trend analyst for a well known media group and moves from Chicago to NYC/ LA (she alternates every 2 weeks between the 2 cities). It's quite funny and a rather refreshing read. She finds her inner fashionista along the way, and learns how to handle the pressures of dating again (A wall street stud in NYC and a hot surfer from Cali). I can't seem to put it down in anticipation of what crazy shenanigans she will get herself into next. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. <33

New read...

Yup, I got it!. :) Lauren Conrad is one of my favorite people to follow as far as style and trends go. I happen to think she looks good in everything! I'm also a sucker for The Hills even though I know it's totally scripted and made-up nonsense. I can't help it, I'm a sucker for reality T.V! One of my friends called to tell me she was at a local mall in Long Island, NY yesterday to do a signing and apparently she couldn't even get near the book store! She said there were 15 year old girls lined up for days crying/ screaming for some L.C! Lol...I wouldn't go that far but I'm not gonna lie....I'm pretty psyched to get lost in the LaLa Land that is The Hills ;)

Book Worm

I picked up some new books while at one of my endless trips to Barnes and Noble the other day. Since I can't get enough of Bethenny Frankel (The Real Housewives of NYC) I picked up her New York Times Bestseller, "Naturally Thin". I started it already and I think it's great that she is putting out a smart way to eat WITHOUT dieting! She's fabulous, I would follow anything she does! I also picked up a fashionable humor book (of course), "Bringing Home The Birkin", by celebrity stylist Michael Tonello. I haven't started it yet, but I think it will be a great summer read, and nothing beats the adventures of a stylist who travels the world in pursuit of the most coveted bag of all time.

So finals are officially over! As much as I would have loved to be taking some summer classes, the bank of Desiree is already in the negative digits with with all the loans from this previous semester. I can't believe how much a college education costs these days...it is absurd! I am going to be job hunting for something this summer just unsure what I want to do. I'm famous for coming up with great ideas and not following through with them. I seriously go from one extreme to the next! I keep saying I want to get back into retail, there are so many cute boutiques in the city especially near my campus, and then I want to be a Nanny somewhere on the upper east side, and then of course I would love to get my foot in the door at a Fashion magazine....oooh decisions, decisions...only time will tell! I am however very happy with how fast this semester flew by! I'm really happy I decided to go back to school! I actually feel like I'm doing something to better myself and I'm trying to take in every second of it and really appreciate it this time around. If all goes well, I will be the first person in my family to graduate from college, and I have so many plans I just know no matter what I decide, I'm so proud I decided to do this for myself. I'm also grateful that my parents have been so supportive! =)

Elated with Happiness <333

"Edward, we've been through this and through this. I know it will be hard, but I want you forever. One lifetime simply isn't enough for me."
-Bella
So I'm very happy first off because tonight is Britney Spearssssssss!!!!! =)
2nd because I get to spend the next few days with my BFF and we have many plans on our agenda!
I'm also SAD because I finished the LAST Twilight book last night: Breaking Dawn and as AMAZING as all four books were...I'm very sad it's over! I have so many other books to read but I feel like NOTHING will compare to reading into the lives of Bella and Edward :(
I have a very sore throat and a cough that I can't seem to get rid of so I'm off to the doctors now...

P.S - CANT WAIT TO SEE DANIELLE B. (She is such a rock star!) ;-)

INFLUENCE

I'm sitting here building this page when I have a ton of reading to do, but now I'm just way to into it to turn away! Anyways until recently I wasn't a huge fan of the Olsen twins (although I do love checking out MK's hot messy outfits!) So I was browsing through the bookstore the other day and picked up their new coffee table book. I must say, I was very intrigued. I think the fact that they interviewed a bunch of incredibly fabulous people including: Diane Von Furstenberg, Karl Lagerfeld, Giambattista Valli (my fav) and about 20 others, I felt so inspired and loved reading what these amazing designers had to say. If your at all into fashion then I would suggest checking this one out! <3
